What is a Swing Fall?
A swing fall is a common hazard and can be very dangerous. Always pay careful attention to the placement of your anchorage point to avoid swing falls. Always aim to move straight from the anchorage point to any edge, and if sideways movement is required, it must not exceed the distance from the anchorage point to the edge. For example, if the distance from the anchorage point to the edge in the image below is 10 meters, then sideways movement must not exceed 10 meters due to the risk of a swing fall if the user slips on the roof.
