When a fall arrest system has stopped a fall, the incident is not over.
The person may be injured, remain suspended or be unable to reach a safe place without assistance. Rescue must therefore be capable of being carried out without unnecessary delay.
Once the person is in a safe place, further care must be provided as required.
Equipment that has been loaded during a fall must be taken out of service and handled in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions before it may potentially be used again.
Remember
Arresting the fall is the beginning of the rescue – not the end of the incident.
