A rescue plan only works if it can be carried out under the actual conditions.
Before work begins, verify that:
- the casualty can be reached,
- suitable anchorage is available,
- the rescue equipment has sufficient reach and is suitable for the situation,
- the required people are available,
- the person can be moved all the way to a safe place.
If the workplace, working method, staffing or other important conditions change, the rescue plan needs to be reassessed.
Remember
Rescue equipment is not the same as rescue preparedness.
