Equipment that has been loaded during a fall or may have been affected by another incident must not automatically remain in use.
Take the equipment out of service and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
The same applies when:
- damage is suspected but is not clearly visible,
- the equipment has been exposed to an unknown chemical or other influence,
- it is unclear what the equipment has been exposed to.
Depending on the product and manufacturer requirements, the next step may be an inspection, assessment by the manufacturer or another authorised party, or retirement.
Remember
Uncertain condition means: do not use the equipment until safe use can be confirmed.
