6.3 Follow the manufacturer's instructions

The manufacturer's instructions govern how the actual product may be used and maintained.

They include information such as:

• intended use,
• limitations,
• permitted combinations,
• pre-use checks,
• cleaning and maintenance,
• storage,
• periodic inspection,
• service life and retirement,
• whether and how the product may be repaired.

General advice can therefore never replace the manufacturer's instructions for the actual product being used.

Remember

When the question concerns the actual product, the manufacturer's instructions govern.
