6.2 Pre-use check

The user must check the equipment before use in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

The check should identify anything that may make the equipment unsafe, for example:

• visible damage,
• abnormal wear,
• changes or deformation,
• missing or illegible markings,
• abnormal function.

Equipment that is damaged or may have insufficient protective performance must not be used.

A pre-use check does not replace periodic inspection.

Remember

If the condition is uncertain, do not use the equipment until safe use can be confirmed.
